Thank you so much for the support ladies - it means a lot!

gotawolf - I hope things go well for you.

I was so emotional yesterday as well and in talking it out with someone (we have an Employee Assistance Program here) figured out with me was of course the seriousness of the surgery, but also I am missing my mom quite a bit. I'm a bit better today

depression is a normal reaction to what you are going through. Gotawolf, don't feel guilty...you did not ask for this!! I am sure your family will understand, and frankly if they don't get it, you have to be your own advocate. Take good care of yourself. it is said it takes a year for the body to actually heal from the surgery. get rest, drink your water, I remember the slow walks, they really helped. I was actually out walking the day I left the hospital.
