new pain

I had my surgery on Dec.15th.LAVH.Kept my Ovaries. My surgery was longer than the doctor expected. It took 3 hours.I got a UTI three days later with 103 fevers.Got a shot of rochephin and took Cipro for 10 days.I have good and bad days. But now I've been having a lot of discharge and shooting pains in my lower abdomin. It feels different .at times I feel I have a lot of energy. Then the next minute I'm exhausted. Is this normal???

new pain

Is it discharge or bleeding? Blood tinged or other color discharge at 3 weeks is a normal part of healing. Those sharp pains you're feeling are quite likely the stitches healing -- again expected and normal at 3 weeks.
Lots of energy vs. exhausted is again normal. That's why it gets harder to rest and take care of ourselves as we start to get more energy and feel better. You still must be very careful

Hi metzli,

How frustrating for you to start off with a UTI! You mentioned that your energy levels are fine and then way down. This can be normal, but it's really important to communicate with your doctor about this. He/she should be aware of symptoms such as this.

I'd especially mention the shooting pains and discharge. Again, your doctor knows your case really well and will have a much better idea as to what is normal and what is not okay - plus it's reassuring to get the final word from them about symptoms like this. I hope you'll go ahead and give them a call so you can put your mind at ease. Perhaps they can help with pain management as well.

Hope you start to feel like you're on the mend soon!
