very tender breasts, VHysterectomy2009

In 2009 I had a vaginal hysterectomy and kept my two ovaries. Recently in the last 2 months I have had very tender sore breasts. I am wondering if this is normal and if there is anything I could do for it.

Re: very tender breasts, VHysterectomy2009

You don't say how old you are, but I am 53 and I have that problem when I "cycle". By cycle I mean that I am going through the motions of still having a period but don't actually have one (due to LSH in June, 2007). Even though all of my lab work suggests I am in menopause, which, for those with a uterus, would mean no more periods, those of us that are uterusless don't even know when we are completely done cycling. I get VERY sore breasts, and they last for much longer than if I were to have a period many years ago. I even have to sleep with a bra on. Once my "period" starts (or the hormones give up, not sure) then the soreness goes away for quite a while. Hope this helps...if not hope you feel better soon!

Re: very tender breasts, VHysterectomy2009

I am 40 and have both ovaries no uterus, cervix. I thought it was because I was cycling also but it just does not give up. I feel like I just gave birth and just breathing on them hurts, even wearing a bra hurts as well if its too padded.
I guess it may be inevitable that my hormones are really out of wack, I just hope that it is not the start of menopause.
