9 days post daVinci hysterectomy: Infection

I am 9 days post-op. Had surgery -daVinci total including the ovaries- on Monday the 22nd. I went home on the 23rd. On the 25th I called Bc it felt like I had a UTI. The doc put me on cipro. I've now run a fever since the 24th, low grade between 99 and 101. The pain in my belly is worse that the day of surgery- intense- doubles me over and can't move. My doc did a CBC on me yesterday and my white blood cell count is very high. He called and talked to me today for 15 min on the phone. He put me on two new antibiotics - Flagyl and Keflex. He also still has me on Percocet. If I don't take two tablets of Percocet every 4 hours the pain is excruciating. I am having bowel movements, they are soft BC I've been on a stool softener. I'm in a TON of pain near the end of my 4 hours. I'm drinking lots of water and using a heating pad. I'm exhausted and emotional. And scared.

Re: Infection after daVinci

First of all, welcome to the other side............
So sorry to hear that you are dealing with so much Stacy. It sounds like your doctor is on top of things having you take antibiotics and pain medications. The first little while following surgery is a challenge but the best part is knowing that you will feel stronger and better as each day goes by. Take this time to rest and recover. Welcome to this wonderful community of women who truly know what you are going through. We are all here to support you.

Gentle ((hugs)) Happy New Year!
