pain,adhesions? And freaking weight loss
Hi, it has been about 6 or 7 months since I had hysterectomy and rectocele repair. I have a way of overdoing it and being in pain, because apparantly I am an IDIOT! Well now I think I have really done it or something. I have gained weight, so I joined a gym. Well, not thinking I lifted some weights, I only did this once. I am so sore and it has been about a week and a half. I am taking advil. But it seems to be getting worse. Do you have any ideas? I had overdone it before and was in alot of pain, several days, enough to make me go get checked out, I thoght I had screwed something up, doc acted like I was an idiot and said I wasn't going to mess it up. Well, I had surgery to get rid of pelvic pain caused by a prolapsed uterus, and I swear I thought things would have smoothed out by now. I just need to not have vaginal pain! And how do you loose the weight? I was really watching calories eating lots of veggies and lean protien, and exercising on bike 30-45 minutes 4 days last week and doing yoga and stretching class- I lost 1 and 1/2 pounds in a week. Sis in law who I do love dearly went off diet ate pizza and a whole bag off freaking cookies last weekend and lost a 4 and 1/2 pounds. HOW is that? Thanks for listening !

You were doing the right things for your body,as you describe. A healthy weight loss of no more than 2 pounds per week is great!
Comparing yourself to others serves no purpose, as we are all different. Besides, the human body is only capable of metabolizing an average of up to 2 pounds of fat per week......SOoooooooo, any more weight loss than that is water or....God forbid.....muscle tissue.
Be patient with your body, and it shall be kind to you. Take care, Princess................ s......Deb

Dillydoo- you're too funny, you really made me laugh, because like you, I too seem to over do it.And the funny thing is I still don't know when enough is enough.Anywho ,I noticed as well that when I started to do some excersices, I really had some big time pain for several days after.Kinda of surprised me seeing on how good I've been feeling, I really thought I messed myself up somehow. Needless to say I stopped(like that really got me disapppointed not to excersise, right?)Okay so I have lost some weight since surgery, but would like to lose more. Call me crazy but I guess it's because I'm feeling pretty much like a twenty year old again and would like to look like one I suppose.Yikes.. that could be a scary image..( A 51 yr old looking like a 20 yr old)In any case I'm guessing for me that my body isn't quite ready for some heavy duty excersises, so for now I will go slow. After a week all the pains subsided.
If anything, having this surgery has made me very very patient, and oh so very humble something that I was never good at before. As far as your sister-in law, I have a girlfriend who is the same way. It's all in the metabolism..if only we could speed ours up a bunch...Hang in there.
Hugs
