No bleeding 7 days post hysterectomy?

I was told there would be bleeding afterwards as of today I've not had to use a pad yet. Is that normal? When does it happens?

You can have bleeding, but many people never do. I never had any.

I had the same surgery and didn't have much bleeding afterwards. I had bled so much before it was a relief not to bleed afterwards.

Same here. Just a little light spotting on and off for a few weeks usually just on the toilet paper when wiping. As my activity increased I had to wear a panty liner on occasion. Around 6 weeks I had a pinkish/orangish discharge one time. I was concerned but it never happened again and I assumed it was stitches dissolving as others had mentioned may happen. I think there is less bleeding with a TAH then vaginal or other surgical types. We suffer in different ways. I have a 9 inch vertical incision due to a previous abdominal surgery (bowel resection due to perforated bowel from crohn's disease in 1993) and an extremely large fibroid uterus. Fortunately, I am not a large person (5'4", 150 lbs) so I think it made it less painful for me.

Most people with tah's don't bleed after, due to everything coming out thru the abdomen. I didn't bleed anymore after the first day..

I had a TAH 1/4/16 due to fibroids & enlarged uterus. I had very lite spotting on day 1 & 2 & that was it! I was expecting to have some sort of bleeding bc I was told by my Dr that its possible to have some bleeding for a few days to a few weeks.

I am post op day 7 also w TAH and had some light bleeding day 3 and 4 but nothing since.

Thanks bumhouse for the response same here 5"1' was 155 before surgery now at 138...had a very large UGLY fibroid. I pray it continues to be easy recovering..
