6 months post-op and sore?

Hi,
I had a hysterectomy June 5--kept my cervix and left ovary. Everything went great!! Little pain and recuperated very quickly (although I did behave myself). Felt better than I had in years and was really happy I had the surgery. Resumed teaching in September and although my energy wasn't 100%, it was really good considering it was only 3 months after the surger. I was not in shape before surgery and overweight. In September (3 months) after surgery, I started therapeutic yoga and even mowed the lawn a couple of times. Again, I felt great and was always careful not do overdo. Two days ago in school, an aide forgot to come to my room and get a student in a wheelchair. (I teach high school.) It was lunchtime and we only get 18 minutes so I pushed her to the cafeteria. Halfway there, it really started to hurt where my right ovary was taken and then down into my cervix. I took motrin and stayed off my feet for the rest of the day. The extreme soreness did lessen, but the right side is still sore. Has anyone else experienced this? I have a high pain tolerance, have really taken care of myself after surgery and really have felt wonderful. Just didn't know if this happens.

Sholan

I'm sorry you've experienced this.

I didn't have an ovary(ies) removed and so can't comment on any pains that may happen as a result of that. As it's a new pain, however, and you're 5 months post-op, it would definitely be worth checking this out with your doctor ~ if only to put your mind at rest.

Will you let us know how you get on? I hope it improves very soon. Take care!
