Nervous - new pain(s)

OK...I'm about 16 days post-op....I've been feeling really good the last couple of days....I did more in the last couple of days, but have definately rested throughout the day after doing a few things. This afternoon I took a nice nap and was feeling ok - not great, but ok. Tonight I had to drive an hour to meet up with some friends and about 1 hour after I got there, I really started to have some major pain ....then, I had to drive home. I called my hubby because I was worried about all the pain I all of a sudden started having, which is in a weird spot!! They left the left ovary and that is where I am having the most pain!...so, when I was about 1/2 way home, I took 2 pain pills because I would be driving right past the ER if needed, but wanted to know if the pain meds would help. When I was by the ER, I felt kind of silly stopping because I hadn't had the pain meds in me very long, so I didn't stop...well, needless to say, it is now 2 hours after taking the pain meds, and I have a heating pad on my belly, I am still in quite a bit of pain. I don't know how long or if I should wait?? I thought maybe I'd see if once the pills starting wearing off (not that they are helping 100%) how I feel. I'm not sure if it can really be from overdoing, however, I don't know....anyone have any suggestions??? Thanks in advance!

Any new pain needs to be reported to your doctor. It may or not be from doing to much, but the cause doesn't matter. The fact that you are experiencing new pain is a good reason to call your doctor. I also want to add a caution about taking pain medication before driving a car.

Your doctor may want you to come in for a quick exam. Please give him/her a call. I hope you feel better soon.

how are you feeling this morning? pray that the pain has gone away, if it has not hon, please, call your doctor and let him know....maybe seating in a car and pushing on and off on the brakes didnt help you much....let us know what he says and how you are feeling....

ps; what meds are you taking?

The pain isn't as bad as last night, but it is still there. I'm going to take a shower, relax and see how things go...I'm leaning to think that maybe my body is giving me a sign that I need to just do nothing for a little while longer....I also do realize about the pain meds and driving; however, I felt as though I had no other choice as I had to make it home....not something I have ever done or will probably ever do again as I do know how dangerous this could be. I'm going to take it easy this morning and see how I feel this afternoon. Thanks for your thoughts.
