spotting and bloating 3 weeks post op

Hi i had my TAH (uterus & cervix only) on 30th june, i never had any bleeding except on the first day but now 3 weeks on i have started to get a pinkish dicharge that seems to be getting worse each day and my stomach feels quite hard and bloated. It still hurts to cough and when i do i feel as if something heavy is going to fall down. Has anyone else experienced this? i know it is still very early on but really just need to know if this is normal before i go trotting off to the docs only to be told im being silly. Also im still finding it uncomfortable to to stand up after sitting for a while. I would be grateful for any advice on all this...thanks

Re: spotting and bloating 3 weeks post op

Hi! I pretty much did the same thing. No bleeding until 3 weeks post op. Started light pinkish when I would wipe and just got heavier. Belly bloated and Incision hard and lumpy. I saw my Doc and he checked to make sure my "vaginal cuff" was still intact. Which it was. I saw him a week later with the same check. He said, swelling and bloating is normal, and the hardness is from hematoma blood that settles and turns hard and the body reabsorbs it! Good luck! Take it easy, I always noticed it would get worse when I was doing more and not resting the right way! Pamper yourself! I am 5 weeks post op tomorrow, and still have bad days. Ready to feel normal, but know its gonna take time!

Your Welcome!! BUT TAKE IT EASY! At four weeks out I decided to clean my house, cause I felt so bad that everyone was doing everything...felt fine while doing, took it easy and slow. And was as happy as a bee when all done. Sat down to rest and about an hour later got up to go potty and couldn't stand straight. Was stuck on my back in bed IN ALOT OF PAIN for the next three days! SO REST REST REST while you can, so you can go on holiday and be 100%! Take care!!

Re: spotting and bloating 3 weeks post op

Hi
I am 11 days post op with LAVH. I have been doing some walking and I have a little pink on pad but seems to be getting better. I also feel bloated and hurts to sneeze and cough and have lots of gas. I only had 3 incisions which the biggest one has a scab which I guess will fall off by itself. I go to Dr. for 2 week visit and hope it is gone by then. No matter what kind of surgery you have, it all hurts and takes time I guess. Plus I am 74 yrs old but active. I also have that low down feeling and I have heard when they take your cervix which is your flooring that sometimes you have trouble with incontinence. I am going to try to do Kegel exercises to ward off this. We just have to hang in there!!!!!
