Question re: prior surgeries
I want to find out what you ladies know about prior abdominal surgeries, scarring, and adhesions, and how these things factor into the decision of which type of hyster to perform.
A little background, I have a scar from another surgery a long time ago. I think and the gyn onc thought that I should be a candidate for the less invasive hyst procedure. My old ob gyn recommended LASH. The new gyn first said a vag hyst including cervix and poss ovary was likely the best option. Now, however, he seems to be planning hip to hip abdominal.
I am confused, and frustrated. I'm wondering if due to the prior surgeries, the dr may just feel like this is too complicated? Would you get 4th opinion? I need to be recovering as soon as possible, but I dont want to drag this out any further if I just simply am not a good candidate for the less invasive procedure. Thanks, your thoughts are deeply appreciated.
