Re: Ugh!!! I feel like I am losing my mind

I hear you, Dreamer - I work a very demanding physical and mental job (pharma - I make drugs, basically) and my hours are all over the place. I work anywhere from 10-15 hours/day and this last couple of weeks I am a mess. Sleeping as much as possible, but even then, brain fog due to pain and extreme fatigue along with constant bleeding...and cramps. And you know there are so many men where I work that they can't really relate and roll the eyes, you know, it's just a girl thing to them. By the end of the night, I can't formulate a coherent thought and I used to be the one wanting to stay all night and get it done, you know? Now, I just want OUT. Of course, comments have been made about my performance, which is completely unfair because they know about my condition and they know I'm having major surgery next week...blah...and they just keep piling it on, hoping I can train a person in one week to do what has taken me years to learn. Really?! Ha! I don't trust myself at all and that scares me even more. And frankly, my employer simply doesn't care. Real nice. So much for long-term employee commitment, huhM It's amazing how quickly they forget how I stepped up over and over in the past 5 years just because for the last couple of weeks I am really sick and they need to meet their fiscal year-end quotas...guess I at least know how undervalued I am, if nothing else.

Okay...so...my advice? Live for YOU. Forget them. Do what YOU need to do and the rest will fall into place. Remember that when YOU need something, don't count on them. And get some rest and count down the days to a newer and healthier you. And hey! Maybe you'll feel SO much better about yourself that you'll decide that YOU don't need THEM...and you'll feel confident enough to move on. After all, they shouldn't be expecting so much from you when you are so obviously tired and in pain.

Wish you only the best. You will get through this. So will I. We MUST. Peace.

Re: Ugh!!! I feel like I am losing my mind

I totally understand where you are coming from. I work 2 jobs so I work 6 days a week/15 hrs daily. The last couple of weeks before my surgery I was not sure if I was going to make it to surgery. I was just so exhausted. I think it's kind of common. It's like you've been strong so long and you can see an end in sight so you just kind of go into slow motion.
I am a week past my surgery and I feel loads better. There is hope on the other side.
