Bright red bleeding?
Hey all! So my LAVH was March 26. I've had all the normal stuff but today I woke up with bright red blood. It's not a lot and the nurse said since its not a pad an hour I just did too much. I'm just wondering if there is anyone out there that had this and a slight odor as well? The nurse is making me take it easy and see my doc Monday so just seeing if anyone else has had this? Thanks Sisters

Re: Bright red bleeding?
Hi! I had TVH same day as you, and similar experience with bright red spotting one day this past week. It was not heavy, but did make me nervous after having had just pink-tinged staining since surgery. The day before, I had taken a longer walk than usual and done quite a bit more standing, so I attributed it to that and took it easy (including an afternoon nap that I hadn't been taking); the bright red spotting stopped by afternoon, so the extra resting seemed to have done the trick.
Hope yours lets up, too, and that you are able to take it easy and relax until your appointment.

Re: Bright red bleeding?
Thank you Casey. It makes me feel better to know I am not alone in this. I have been doing more because I felt good so now I know I pushed it. I'm going to take it easy, it's already lessened. I appreciate your feedback!

Re: Bright red bleeding?
Same thing happened to me around 3 Wks po when I decided to get on a riding lawnmower. When the bright red started I went down and stayed down for two days and it returned to brownish then pink. So rest yourself sister and hopefully it will continue to subside.

Thank you Lainey! It's crazy because you go crazy laying around! Then you feel good and I guess take it for granted. I really didn't understand how much this would affect my life. I wish I knew this site before my surgery. Thank you for sharing!!

Re: Bright red bleeding?
Just a note on the "odd smell" I received the booklet that Hystersister puts out and it did say that the internal stitches will start to fall out and you can notice an odd smell when that happens along with some different colors in your panties. I think they have a PDF version of this booklet on here. I don't have mine right here in front of me and I am too sore to get up right now. If you haven't seen this booklet, believe me, check it out. Hope you rest today and don't overdo it.

Re: Bright red bleeding?
I too had some bright red blood a couple of days ago. My TVH was March 20th. I have been feeling so good! I carried a couple of grocery bags and slipped on the ice all in one day!! Not recommended! Either one! I started to bleed some bright red blood and a little 'pulling' in my abdomen. Decided I better just lay around for a few days which seemed to work for me as well. Spotting is quite light again, but I am sure taking it easy now. As far as odor, I too have some. This is what is bothering more than anything. When I called the dr. the nurse asked me if it smelled like a yeast infection. What does a yeast infection smell like???...

Re: Bright red bleeding?
Thanks everyone! I think the smell is the blood because I seem to smell it when I bleed but I can't be certain. I haven't seen any stitches fall out yet but I certainly hope that's the case!!
