Coughing********oh The Agony

Oh my God, I am in complete and total agony, everyday at least 3-4 times a day, I having a coughing fit, it's like I swallowed wrong and there is an uncontrolable urge to cough, but OHHHHH the pain, it's unbearable. granted I am not on anything other than ibuprfen and tylenol for pain, but geeeezzzzz, I feel like my insides are gonna explode. I hold on tight to my belly pillow each time and only let out slight coughs, it's truly unbearable. Is this normal to feel such pain??? Can I hurt myslef coughing or sneezing??? It sure feels like it.

Oohh how I remember that pain!! Yall are still newbies,yea it is going to hurt and it hurts bad. But it does pass. Today though I noticed when I sneezed 2 times in a row I said ouch that hurt,so even at 4 months post op you can get some soreness from it.

I recommend Halls Fruit Breezers. They are great and everytime I started to feel that tickle I popped one in my mouth. They don't taste bad at all and I kept them right by my bedside. I used a bag the first week. I always keep a drink by my bed also. My blood pressure makes me cough sometimes. Good Luck and keep using your pillow. God Bless

I am having the same problem ughh!! Dh keeps asking if I am getting sick I say no. I guess its from being tubed?? But sure not helping with my pain

It will "get better," I promise. Hang in there and keep your belly pillow with you. My darling family learned that when I said "I am gonna cough," they would run for the pillow. They have been GREAT!!!!!!!!

I have noticed now; at almost 5 weeks I am able to just cradle my belly and cough or sneeze. You are still VERY tender, just give it some time.....

Thank you all for your speedy replies. I'm comforted in knowing this is normal, but am so sorry your all going through it as well. But as the others who have been where we are, it will get better, everyday. So for that I am so very grateful. Not knowing is difficult.

just wondering what is over correction vaginal stenosis,if you do not mind me asking? No wonder you are in pain when you cough,I only had lavh and it hurt me,I can only imagine the pain you feel when you cough,sneeze or laugh.

The first surgeon who did my intial repairs over corrected by sewing me up too much. She sewed up my muscle with my vaginal tissue, so I have a long hard painful ridge going up inside my vagina, she also sewed the opening of my vagina up to the size of a dime. I had to use dialators with estrogen cream for 9 months to stretch the opening up, but it never streched enough to accomidate my husband so I had corrective surgery done to open up the opening. But refused to have anything done about the muscle out fo fear of scar tissure developing and at that point another surgery up inside my vagina was a horrifying thought to me. i hate that doctor. I should have gone to a specialist from the get go. i have an attorney, but am not so sure i can be consumpated for the pain and suffering, not to even mention to loss of relations I have lost between my husband. I will be surprised if my marrige survies this all. I really will. I had my regualr OB/GYN do the 1st surgery.

Ugh!! That sounds so painful. I feel for you. Hopefully you are on the road to recovery. I read about a woman on the internet,I will try to find the link and send it to you,her dr sewed her bladder to her cuff,and it took 2 years to get fixed,but during this 2 years,no relations with husband and the jerk left her,over sex,what kind of love is that? Anyway,she was compensated 350,000.00 and would you believe that jerk of a man was also compensated too,did not say amount,but I do not think he deserved a dime. I hope one day men like that will have erectile dysfunction with no cure in sight,that will set them straight and see how it feels. I am having cuff problems and was have not been released for a bath much less sex. My dh and I were discussing this very same situation,he things men like that are not men but whimps and cowards with other problems just using wife's problems as an excuse. I hope your marriage can survive this,as marriage is more than sex. I too miss this with my dh,but we compensate in other ways for now.
