8 days post hysterectomy - fever, UTI - UPDATED

What are the CT results? I had a similar issue with fever post op. I was readmitted to the hospital for 3 days and had multiple inconclusive CT scans. Still having a rough recovery, but I felt much better after IV and oral antibiotics in the hospital. I hope everything is okay.

For some reason I didn't see you got admitted last night before I posted. I'm glad you are getting taken care of. Hopefully the IV antibiotics will do the trick. I had the same experience as you did. 3 days of IV antibiotics and 1 week of oral at home and I felt much much better.

Where is the abscess? I too have been diagnosed with uti on the basis of slight temperature, lower abdominal pain and blood in urine but I am not convinced. I feel like it's my appendix (don't have one).
I know it's not good to end up back in hospital but it's the safest place for you in the long run. Hopefully the Iv will do its job and you will be out in no time. Keep in touch.

Hi Ladies. So i was released from hospital monday morning adter being there for almost a week due to fever that wouldn't go away. Well at first they drained what they thought was an absess but the culture from it shows no bacteria. I been on Cipro for fever.....finally no more. But i swear i was traumatized. After the fever coming a week after hysterectomy......all i can think now is omg.....is anything else gonna happen? They took another CT scan day before i left hospital and fluid showed up again but they didn't wanna mess with it again. Had a follow up today and gyno said that eventually that would absorb naturally. Im just scared and paranoid now. If i knew it was gonna be like this i would've never had it done. 😞

I'm sorry you have had such a rough go of things. I didn't go through what you did, but I do know how you are feeling. I have been in and out of hospitals the last four years and this hysterectomy was just one of my issues. I still lay in bed and think..."what else". In fact when I got the call that cancer cells were found in my cervix, I actually laughed. I have gotten to the point where anything new that pops up gets more and more ridiculous. You will get through this and you will be stronger because of it. Something that helps me is research. I look up everything I can about things I have and medications/procedures that go along with my diagnosises. You are your best advocate! I don't get caught up in all the horror stories online because let's face it, the people that breeze through things don't post - success stories are all around, they are just not posted as frequently. You are not alone. Take care of yourself!
