2 week checkup after hysterectomy/ cystocele repair

My 2 wk check is coming after laparoscopic assisted vaginal hysterectomy and anterior repair. Do they usually do a pelvic exam at the 2 week mark, or just check belly incisions, etc.?

Hi Dessert! I didn't have my first post-op check until 5 weeks. What I have read on other threads is that it depends upon your doctor. It seems in most cases, they check how you are doing and check incisions. I wouldn't rule out that they might do an pelvic exam, but it is likely a bit early for that.

It depends on your doctor.

My doctor did a 2 week pelvic exam. He inserted the speculum, took a look, and did a swab to check for bacterial infection. It was easy and painless.
