Re: kidney stones
if it gets too bad, go to an er. The only thing that helped my brother was via iv and it knocked him out cold.

Re: kidney stones
(((ga2sc)))
Kidney stones are by far the worst pain I have ever dealt with in my life. When you hear it is worth than childbirth, that is no lie!
I would strongly recommend going to ER for IV meds or a shot of pain meds. And while you are there, get a referral to a urologist! Don't try to wait until the morning and don't try to wait to talk to a doctor who already told you have kidney stones but didn't give you any meds for them!
in there and keep us posted!!

Re: kidney stones
ga2sc, I hope you are alreay on the way to the ER (big hug) - my ex had kidney stones and the pain was excruciating and usually involved an ER visit for really strong pain meds.

Re: kidney stones
Here is the thing I have to try to get though the pain I have lost my job and my insurance. It seems that I spent money for a doctor who really could not help me. I am going to see if I can go to a doctor's care center maybe. Thank you for all of your help. This pain will take your breath away when it really hurts my husband had to make me breath I just wish it would pass and be done already.
Thanks again for all the help. Big Hugs

Re: kidney stones
are you on unemployment? no cobra? It doesn't matter, hospital should treat you anyway, and there are foundations you can apply to for payment.
I don't want to scare you, but kidney stone pain can throw you into shock which is really not good for recovering not to mention it could kill you. Call your local "first call for help" and find out what the best option is.

Re: kidney stones
I'm so sorry your having kidney stones on top of everything else, but please be careful. I had kidney stones last year. In fact, the test for the kidney stones showed cysts on my ovaries which led to a lavh in May.
I tried to pass the stones on my own. After 5 months of pain and discomfort I had to have surgery. A 30 minute procedure ended up being 3 hours because of scar tissue. I also had to have a cathater for 3 weeks. Not fun at all. I'm not trying to scare you. I just want you to know that sometimes those things will not pass on their own. The dr should be able to give you a shot or a script for meds. I had 3 scripts plus 2 er shots.
My GYN put me on calcium and Vitamin D 1000mg. My urologist had a fit. He told me that I could form more stones, so he put me on Citracal w/ VD. He also put me on Urocit K. It helps keep the urine ph at a level that doesn't form stones.
I hope you start feeling better soon. Your in my prayers.

Re: kidney stones
I go tom for a cat scan/urogram because my x-ray showed calcuim deposits in the pelvic area. I am taking extra calcuim and vit d also.
My pain isn't to bad right now. It's just a dull ache. I get scared just reading how bad your pain is.
There is a thing that I believe most hospital have called Charity Care. My older brother couldn't work because of his health and everytime he went to the hospital, (surgery included) he was covered under charity care. I would check into that. And I also think a hospital can't turn away a patient that can't afford to pay.
Good Luck

Re: kidney stones
Gosh what a rough ride you are having. I thought I had kidney stone pain and had a scan earlier this week. Turned out to be me ovulating and the egg apparently trying to squeeze its way out of the ovary stitches (I had a cyst removed) and that created another cyst!!!! OMG It was EXRUTIATING!
I hope you get some help
