Pre-Op jitters

I was initially scheduled for surgery on April 29th; however, my pain is so intense, they have rescheduled it for March 25th. Since this is only a week away, I am so nervous!!!! I go for pre-op on Monday with my doctor. Any suggestions on what I need to ask my doctor? I'm having a TAH

I know exactly how you feel as I really had them myself and this website was of great help to me. You will be feelings so much better and happy that you decided to move the date to March instead of April. I was released at 4 weeks and back to work a couple of days later. Felt great, looked great and so happy.

My surgery is also scheduled March 25th!! I'm here for you and feeling the exact same way. I have never put so much thought and worry into one thing in my life. I feel that it's all I ever think of latley. I'm going to keep working next week up until Thursday hoping to keep my mind busy. Let's keep in touch. I wish you well.

First, nervous is normal. I found waiting was the worst part so an earlier surgery date is probably a blessing-in-disguise.

Unfortuately, I've now tossed my list of pre-op questions but I know there is a great list on the site.

I had a TAH/vertical incision on Feb. 28. Two-and-a-half weeks later I feel great, I'm totally off any pain medication and my Frankenstein monster incision is slowly beginning to transform itself into a unobtrusive pink scar. I am AMAZED by how quickly my body is recovering.

The experience was much better than I had feared.
