4 weeks post-op vaginal odor?
I had a TAH on Aug.3....I have been noticing that I have faint pale discharge (very little) and a very bad odor. Its an odor I never smelled before the hysterectomy. Does anyone else have this problem?

4 weeks post-op vaginal odor?
Fishy?
Someone explained that around week 4, the stitches start dissolving inside. No, you don't pop open, but a little seepage isn't unusual, and that causes the discharge and the smell. It goes away.
Monitor your temperature, though. Just in case of an infection.

If you have a very bad odor, then you should get this checked out with your doctor. It may be nothing to worry about, but there's only one way to find out.
Will you let us know what your doctor says? Take care!

4 weeks post-op vaginal odor?
I too had a discharge with an ordor, at my 2 week check up they found I had a bacterial infection, said it could of been from the washing out after sugery, might have washed to much of the good bacteria away, a week of anitibiotics took care of it all. You really should check with your doctor.

4 weeks post-op vaginal odor?
Thank you all for your quick replies. I really think that I have a bacterial infection. My temp. yesterday was 100.2 and I felt chilled and achey. But, I also have other problems that make me run fever (pouchitis and dehydration). I did call the nurse and am waiting for her to call me back. I will let ya'll know what she says!

4 weeks post-op vaginal odor?
I have had this odor as well and thought is this ever going to go away, it is truly awful and I it is so embarrassing that I didn't want to say anything. I thought it was normal, guess I should call my Dr as well?

Always call you dr. with concerns. That's why you pay him the big bucks.

4 weeks post-op vaginal odor?
anyone with an odor should without a doubt, call their drs and either speak to them or make an appt to be seen within a few days. you could have a vaginal bacterial infection that if left untreated, could cause problems. they are very easy to treat with antibiotics or if you can insert something vaginally..metrogel.

4 weeks post-op vaginal odor?
I was wondering the same thing. I am 5 weeks post up tomorrow. I noticed the same "Icky" smell too. I just got done with another dose of Diflican for a yeast infection. I am having some discharge too. I hate calling my doctor every other week. I just went last week.
I keep thinking I will wait until next week. If it is still there when I get back into town I will call my Gyn.
