Finally a PRINCESS!!!

Hello all!! I am home, well actually I have been for a week. I went in on Thursday March 10 and was released late Friday March 11th after having a LAVH. All went well! The only downer was that I had to leave with a catheter. Due to having a c-section they had to stitch my bladder so they made me keep the catheter for a week, got that out yesterday!!!!!!!!!!!! WHAT A RELIEF! Ladies in waiting, the waiting is really the hardest part. The recovery hasnt been as hard as I thought it would be and I am glad its all over. Having a bit a of a hard time with the BM's but other than that I'm doing great.

Finally a PRINCESS!!!

home ((( Sheila )))

I'm happy to hear that you're home and recovering well. I'll bet that you were happy to have the catheter removed

Remember the rules: get lots of rest, take short easy walks and drink lots of water.
I'll be looking for you in post op soon.

Finally a PRINCESS!!!

Sheila,

Glad to hear you're home and doing well.

THE CATHERTER, one of my worst fears.

Take care,
Donna

Welcome home new Princesses!

Congratulations, Sheila, on being crowned Princess!!!

I'm happy things are going well for you. Hopefully BMs will become kinder to you soon.

Sending best wishes for a smooth recovery and a new healthy life.

S!

Donna and Jenny,

I have read a lot of anxious words about the catheter. I'm sorry it has to be such a worry. I know that it is hard to imagine what things are like when it hasn't been done to you before.

For surgery, the catheter is usually put in when you are asleep. I have had a catheter on three different occassions. I was awake for two, after childbirth. It was never painful going in or coming out. Everything is smooth and lubricated going in, and for me, it was removed gently and just slid right out. No sharp pains or aches. I had no trouble with my bladder afterwards. It was such a blessing not to have to get out of bed to pee until I was able.

Of course, there are always exceptions, but I hope you will be a little bit relieved that it is not something to be afraid of or anxious about in most cases. Please take a deep breath about this and believe that it will be a breeze for you, too.

Sending S!!!
