April 25th Princess sent home because of cold

Well, my surgery was scheduled for 8:30 this morning. Yesterday my sinuses were sore and I though uh oh, DH has given me his cold. Woke up at 4:30 with a massive headache and head congestion. I called my OBGYN and believe it or not, she actually called me at 5:30 AM! She said I should go come in for evaluation. Off I went with my carefully packed bag. They prepped me, decided I was not running a fever and I was ready to go. Then the wise anesthesiologist listened to my heart and lungs ( he had a cold himself, so I don't know what he could hear). He felt I was having some drainage and heard some "crackle" in one of my lungs. Said it was not worth the risk, recovery could take longer and chances for pnemonia go way up. So I am back from the castle until next time. Moral: If your DH has a cold, stay away from him!

Oh man, talk about frustrating! Hang in there....get better soon! Although you probably wanted to get this over with, it sounds like a wise dicision was made.

Aw, I'm sorry that happened to you. But, I do agree that it's best not to take unnecessary risks. I hope that you get well and can be rescheduled soon..

How frustrating, but I imagine it would be more frustrating to have a longer recovery time.
