33 and scared to death!!!

Hello all!
I am new to this board and I was just diagnosed 2 days ago with cancer of the uterus and will be having surgery in a few days..I am scared to death not so much of the surgery but if its spread into my lymph nodes..I am trying to keep an upbeat positive outlook on all of this..I was told also by my doctors that they have a pretty good chance at getting all of the cancer cells out of me when they perform the hysterectomy..Also was told that due to my age and that I am in good health otherwise that things should go well overall, its just the feeling of the unknown and the waiting is the real killer, not sure how I will handle this if they say its spread further..Thanks for your support here as I will continue to keep you all posted on my progresses..any help, information, prayers and support is very much appreciated from all of you!!!
Thanks again!
Lori

Welcome!!!

I am so glad that you have joined us here!

You will find many helpful posts in here to help you feel more secure about what is going on with you...& remember to take my advise on this, if nothing else....ask, ask, ask questions until you feel that you are completely educated & know what the best choices for you...

I am 33 myself & am due to have a tvh bright & early in the morning....I really understand how you are feeling about being scared...

Try to not stress about this until you have the cause to...the dr. wouldnt tell you those things unless he felt you have positive things going on for you...

I know that its hard to not worry & be scared, believe me Im the biggest chicken here!! But if you try to keep reminding yourself that no matter what results you get, theres always someone somewhere that has survived, & maybe just maybe has thrived after the trials!!!!

You have made an excellent choice to join us here because the ladies here are all loving caring & knowledgeable about all kind of issues relating to just about every female problem out there...all you have to do is post your problems, questions, whatever & the ladies all try really hard to put you at ease & try to be there for you...

I am sorry that I wont be here when you are just starting your journey with us, but I look forward to reading your posts upon my return!!!

Hyster Sister Strength

Hi Techigal,

Welcome to Hyster Sister's, (even though I'm still rather new here myself) you will find that this group of women will be one of your greatest supports.

Just know that whatever you need, this group of women, will find a way to get it to you. Support, always. Information, if they don't have it they tell you where to find it. Sounding board, no matter how sad, angry, frustrated or happy you are, many will listen. I have also found that just reading others messages has given me strength.

Also, contrary to what Bruisincloud said in her response, I don't find her to be a big but rather a very strong woman - she was one of the first to respond to me when I joined in and despite her having her surgery in tomorrow morning she still takes the time to communicate her thoughts and wishes to us.

Take care and a big

33 and scared to death!!!

Hi there, your situation sounds identical to mine. I am 32yrs old and am having surgery 11/11 for cancer too. I am the most nervous about the lymph nodes also, I am scared of radiation and chemo! What kind of cell is your cancer? Did they do a conization first? Talk about waiting, I have had to wait 6 weeks after my initial conization to have the TAH because they said I had to heal form that first surgery otherwise I could have complications! So all this time waiting I am convinced it has been just spreading throughout my body! You will do fine, so will I , thank goodness we are young and have our strength. Yeah, and the lack of control kills me! My thoughts and prayers are with you!

33 and scared to death!!!

VXCRAZY and Lori,

I am so sorry to hear about your conditon. I am 34 and having my hyst in 3 days. I am pretty scared myself, but I don't have the cancer issue to worry about, I feel for the extra added stress you have and I will pray that the surgery will now free your mind from worries about cancer. You are brave and strong women I am sure and you will one day find yourselves here calming the worries of many more young women faced with a hyst due to cancer. Please ask any questions I am sure there are a lot of women who have been exactly where you are. Again I will say my prayers for the both of you tonight.
