Just started spotting 10 days post hysterectomy

hi, kinda worried. Laproscopic sub cervical hysterectomy with tubes/ovaries removed 10 days ago. I think I may have over done it with cleaning the house and laundry and sweeping. The first 48 hours I had dark brown spotting, then absolutely nothing. Last night I had new pain by my navel and today I have light pink spotting. It's enough to need a pad. My doctors office is closed on Fridays and they are gone for the day. I'm unsure if this is normal. Any thoughts?

Re: Just started spotting 10 days post op.

Laundry and sweep are on my no-no list. So I don't know know what the results would be if I did them. I would feel the need to tell the doctor if I did something that I wasn't suppose to do. Just so they could make sure I didn't damage anything.

When I spoke to my doctor at 5 days post-op, I mentioned to my doctor that my discharge had stopped, she let me know that it might start and stop a couple of times in the next 6 weeks.

So having it start and stop is normal. Or at least okay.

I would just be worried about how the activity may have harmed me.

Thank you. I told my doc of my activities and he didn't say to stop. I've been reading a lot and am stopping in my own. Still walking around but no more laundry, cooking, or dishes for a couple of days. The spotting is normal around day 10 for a lot of folks so I feel better.

Re: Just started spotting 10 days post op.

I am days post-op and I made a call to my doc because of some abnormal pain I was having (overdid it yesterday) She said that I am fine, the pain will get worse during excursion and I may experience light spotting as well. But as long as its not worse than what a period would be like and didn't have clots, and the pain is relieved by rest and doesn't get worse, it's normal to have spotting and pain off and on during recovery. Hopefully this eases your mind a bit! I definitely learned my lesson with trying to do too much too soon! Thought I would share my experience since it seems like you are experiencing the same thing I am.

Take care

Thank you. This makes me feel a lot better. I'd not had a period in over ten years so when I see blood it scares me. Ha. But I'm changing pads and it's light pink spotting that isn't heavy or clotty. Pain is normal amount and no fever, so I'm going to take it easy. Thank you again!
