8 days post op and swelling

The past week I've been taking it easy with the help of my family!!! I even had energy yesterday to put on make up and blow dry my hair but today I feel like my belly is so swollen and tender and the only thing I did different was stand up in one place for 10 minutes when a friend came over, now I feel like I've gone backwards is this normal???

Yes! You're very early in your recovery. I still have swelling at 7+ months post op. If you do too much you will pay for it the next day. Put your feet up rest. This surgery is definitely not a quick fix to our health issues, but a journey we must travel to get to our new selves.

Is a marathon, not a sprint!
