Re: WAKING UP IN PAIN -- Pain Scale 1st 24 hours???

I had the DaVinci on Friday, woke up in pain - around a 7, but immediately was given more morphone by the nurse through my IV and that helped immensely. Within a couple of hours, I was down to around a 3-4. Since then, I have had a couple of times waking up from a nap in some pain, not too intense, and took percocet which took care of the pain. The worst pain now is from gas pressure.

Re: WAKING UP IN PAIN -- Pain Scale 1st 24 hours???

Zero pain when I awoke (TAH/BSO) - my pain meds were managed extremely well by the hospital. I had Demerol thru an IV, Toradol as an injection in the IV every 4 or 6 hours, and a Morphine pump that I could use when needed. After a couple of days, the Demorol and Morphine were discontinued, and I was just on Toradol, but my then, any pain I had was around a 1-2 on a scale of 1-10. By time I got home from the hospital, I was taking a Tylenol here or there when I felt I needed it.
