prometrium-200mg

Hi. I was wondering if anyone could tell me if they were taking Prometrium for any length of time to regulate cycle? I this harmful to take after 6 months? Any weight gain from this?

I took 100 mg for about a year. I can't remember if it was just for a week or two weeks before my period was due each month. It wasn't an every day pill, I do remember that! It was prescribed to help lessen the amount of blood lost with my periods. Unfortunately, that never happened. I didn't gain weight from it, though. Be sure to read the information provided with your prescription and watch for any side effects listed. You should also run your concerns by your doctor or pharmacist for peace of mind.

I'm now using compounded progesterone as a part of my hormone replacement therapy twice a day and have been for well over a year with no weight gain to report. Hope this helps you!

Hi. Thanks for responding so promptly. The prometrium has helped me immensely! I've been taking it for 6 months and I am not scheduled for my hysto yet, but I, too have the endo (mild) and the adenomyosis. I became anemic about 7 months ago, and the doc suggested I try these pills. I've never been pregnant and I am 43 years old and have had a very difficult time agreeing to the abd. hysto. I cancelled once, but now I am rethinking it, because these pills are a bit to remember. Weight gain is in my head...I've been jogging 3-4 times a week to make up for it, and know that since running has become a big part of my life, what will I do when I can't even walk....after the hysto??!! Yikes...a bit immature here, and scared. I discussed this back and forth with God and I told Him he's in charge of whatever happens.
Thanks, but it has reduced the amount of blood lost by alot. I'm not sure how long that will hold, but doing ok.
