Branwyn, I also have a little over four weeks untill my surgery. I work, but all that I can think about is the surgery and getting it over with. I am getting a littlle antsy. I have two little ones to that that take up alot of my time but all I can think about is the surgery. If you think of anything that helps to pass the time please let me know because I can't think of a thing. I try to keep busy, I also take online classes but my mind still tends to wonder.

Hi, what I did to help pass time while I was waiting for my surgery was to read a lot, do my crafts ( I love rubber stamping ), clean out closets and such, cook food to freeze for my recovery. I went shopping ( usually I hate shopping ).I went to a couple of movies and lunch with friends, treated myself to a trip to the beauty salon.

With young children, maybe you could read to them or watch some movies together?

Best wishes.

Hi, from my experience, I really talked about how I was feeling about the surgery. Friends, family, and my puppy helped a lot. I love scrapbooking and use the rubber stamping to make cards and such, reading uplifting books helped as well. I stocked up on everything I could think of. Hang in there, you're soon to be a princess, and pamper yourself, like you deserve :-)
Just some thoughts, all the best to you.

For a change, why not take up knitting?

I know, I'm just tooooooo funny....

Seriously, though - here's an idea. Does your mom have any boxes of old photos she needs organized? It might be really fun for you to take a walk down memory lane and put them in an album for her. Ditto for organizing her recipes and cookbooks for her. It's a way you can keep occupied, plus do something for someone else. And neither one involves lots of heavy lifting or anything like that!

I remember realizing I was watching way too much TV when I found myself watching an episode of Emeril. He was cooking tripe (that's the lining of the cow's stomach) and I was actually thinking to myself, "Hey, that doesn't look so bad." Ack. I turned off the TV for the rest of the day.
