Bladder issues...help
I am 16 days post-op from a TAH/BSO. If my bladder gets too full, I am in sooo much pain. Also if I cough or sneeze I pee my pants. I have started wearing a padded pantie (more like a diaper...arrrrggg) at night, cause when I wake up, I cough and if my bladder is full, well I'm sure you all know how it goes, anyway is this common? Does it get better after we heal? I hate to think of another surgery to repair my bladder, I really don't want to go through this again

Bladder issues...help
I am 6 weeks post op and have had a UTI and a bladder infection. I wear a pad everyday as if I cough I wet my pants. I am frustrated with this. I did not have a hysterectomy to wear pads..I am seeing my doctor next week. I am just hoping it is just my cold. But I am beginning to wonder.

Bladder issues...help
I am almost 4 wekks post op and have kind of the same problem. I go a lot more often than I used to. I also do not really hav the urge to go, but my belly kind of feels full and so I go. If you are going that often, your bladder may not empty enough. When I got off the catheter, every time I went to the bathroom, my bladder did not empty all the way and it hurt. Eventually my urine backed up and I had to get back on the catheter for another week. Now it is ok. Go see your doctor, you may need something for bladder spasms.

Bladder issues...help
I am almost 2 years post op and had pain if my bladder got full for the first year or so. Even now I can't let it get too full. Never an infection, I think this is just "normal" for some of us.

Still have this problem myself
My surgery was over a year and a half ago and I still have this problem myself. After suffering quietly I finally forced my doc to do something about it. I am now on 15mg of Ditropan (not sure I spelled it right) and after the first week I feel like a normal person again. Before the meds I would urinate every half hour to hour. I could go no longer than two hours. If I didn't reach a toilet within five mins of having to go I would start to leak. I have also found I can not indulge in caffine and alcohol as they are irritants and cause severe bladder spasms for me. I was diagnosed with urge incontinence also known as over active bladder. Not very common when you are 26. Good luck talk to your doctor. I think some of us just do have this problem. Maybe it has something to do with weakened internal muscles or something. I don't know I am not a doc.

Non-invasive bladder surgery
My bladder problems (stress incontinence) were a product of the birth of my children. After some testing it was determined that my problems could not be treated with meds. I was orginally scheduled to have a bladder sling procedure at the same time as my TAH (June 2006), but due to severe blood loss my doctor opted not to. I have since gone back (Sept 2007) and had a procdure known as a TVT. This surgery only involved two tiny incisions in my groin (spelling???). The surgery was performed outpatient and I was back to work in a week. I noticed immediate results and would do it again if I had to.

Bladder issues...help
I am told bladder issues take a while to stabilize - it is different for different people. It was the hardest thing for me to get get used to. I had to pee frequently and make sure my bladder was not too full otherwise it hurt and I would have to walk pigeon-toed and hunched over to the bathroom like an old women - LOL!I hate drinking water as well which does not help. Bladder is normal now but I almost went crazy when it was settling down.
