3 months post hysterectomy: Vaginal fullness

I am 3 months post Cystocele repair and TAH. Still feeling intermittent vaginal fullness with small bulge in vagina. It's not my bladder. I see the doc next week. Is it reasonable to ask her to examine me in standing position?? I think it is not there when I lie flat. I have been told it is nerve healing and tissue swelling. It comes and goes. I also have had two urinary tract infections since surgery. Any thoughts ?

Re: Vaginal fullness

Sounds like swelling, I had that feeling for up to 5 months on and off and also convinced myself it was a prolapse but after getting checked it wasn't but best to get it checked for your own peace of mind.

Re: Vaginal fullness

I highly doubt the Dr. can examine you like that while you are standing. Good luck

Vaginal swelling is very common after surgery. Your body has been through a lot of trauma and just as an ankle or knee will swell after trauma, so will the vaginal area. Don't be afraid to talk to your doctor about all of this when you go next week. Go armed with your list of symptoms and questions and tell her what you feel when you stand up, She needs to know all that information. It wouldn't be wrong to ask her about checking while you are standing. She will understand your concerns and fears. Please let us know what your doctor says. We are here for you.
