6 weeks post op vaginally hysterectomy and posterior repair. Help.?

Are there any other woman who have had the same done and still feel the horrid sensation inside the vaginas where the posterior stitches are. It's depressing to think I'll have this feeling all the time now. I was not aware that I had a slight bowel prolapse and certainly couldn't feel any discomfort like I do now. The doctor said it was done at the same time as the hysterectomy as it needed doing. Just want to know does it get better? Thanks everyone.

Re: 6 weeks post op vaginally hysterectomy and posterior repair. Help.?

Hi valadams the prolapse ops do have a long recovery sometimes and it is usual to feel like something is inside you .It is still early days hope youare taking things very easy and resting loads Dont do any lifting or hoovering etc as all these things can pull on the pelvis and set you back ,you only get one chance to recovery and its not a race to get back to normal.Ive had my third prolapse op ,and although its 6months down the line Istill have discomfort issues and now trying low dose antibiotics which along with vagifem pessaries seem to be helping.
Are you on any meds if not speak to your GP to see if he can give you anything to help. Hang in there hopefully things should improve for you but it does take a long time.Big hugs to you love Jilly b xxx
