What is considered light housekeeping?
Even though I am 11 days post op and not wanting to do anything yet, I was wondering when it is time what is considered light housekeeping? Folding laundry? dishes? light cooking? dusting? I have no idea. My restriction right now is 15 pounds but I haven't lifted anything close to that. I don't go to post op appt until the 28th.

What is considered light housekeeping?
Hi cross-stitcher 5
There's a great video to watch in the check point section (3-4 weeks) that covers the topic of light housework. This together with your Dr's ok should help.
Happy healing!

Re: What is considered light housekeeping?
Sweeping, mopping and vacuuming should probably be avoided. There is more pulling going on than you think. Light cooking, and dishes if you don't have to bend much or scrub hard. Listen to your body and stop at the slightest pain.

Re: What is considered light housekeeping?
I washed a few dishes while standing at the sink. If you have a dishwasher, be really careful of bending down to load and unload it. Also, let someone else handle the heavy pots and pans.
I also did about as much cooking as I ever do, i.e., I made oatmeal, heated up frozen veg, steamed rice and made the occasional omelet.
Whatever you do, don't get to fixated on completing the task. Your primary focus has to be on how your body is feeling at any given moment. If you're halfway through the dishes and you start to feel twingey, go lie down for a bit. Don't try to push yourself so you can finish the job.
