Birth Control Pill Question

Okay, ladies, I have another question... I was on birth control pills for years... I loved the convenience of them and they worked! I started having trouble with irregular bleeding in January of this year, a month or so later they discovered that I have an intramural fibroid. About a month and a half ago, the doctor told me to stop taking the pills to see if that had any effect on the growth of the fibroid. The fibroid seemed to have tripled in size in just a few months. Well, I did stop taking the pills and at first, the bleeding was heavier for more days of the week than before. But now this week, I have absolutely no bleeding, with the exception of yesterday when I had a very, very, very little amount. Even before, when it was light, I always had something. For a half a second I wondered if I should go thru with the LSH scheduled for 9/12/06 but I know that my period will come back, it's not gone forever (too bad!). I've actually said that I'm so over dealing with this, I don't even want a normal period anymore... I don't want any!! I just wondered if anyone had any experience like this or just any thoughts as to what you think about it. As always, thanks!

Birth Control Pill Question

Dear Zengac,
I can relate to what you're going through. I bled for 4 months straight just this spring while on the bc pill and on provera. I have been on bc for years to try to help me endo, and the provera was supposed to make the bleeding and pain stop. It took 4 months for the bleeding to stop, and the pain has yet to go away. When the bleeding stopped I thought that maybe the provera was working at treating my adenomyosis and that I might not have to go through with the hyst. The pain is still terrible though, and my endo and edeno are causing other complications for me, so it's not an option not to have the surgery. It's perfectly normal to have second thoughts about going through with such a life chenging surgery, but I do agree with you that even though there are moments of improvements for us ladies with female problems, the problems are not going to go away forever, so we are probably better going through with the surgery if we've already gotten to the point of agreeing to have it. Temporary relief is not worth putting off a life time of relief, in my opinion, so I say that if you are resolved to have the surgery then go ahead and have it and show your uterus who is really in control of your life. I wish you the best of luck!!!
