2 weeks post op today

Had my 2 week post op appointment yesterday. It wasn't as bad as I feared it would be. My dr. is such a wonderful, caring, sensitive man. He discussed the pathology report with me and told me that every thing was normal but they did find a large fibroid inside my uterus. Guess I did the right thing by going ahead and having the surgery!

Yesterday was nice. I had my dr. appointment, spent time with a few co-workers, took my kids out to eat (they were going stirr crazy in the house) and I got in the pool. For some reason just getting in the pool. being still not moving around, I started having cramps in my lower back so I didn't stay long. Today I think I'll just take it easy not do too much. I've come too far to go back now!

Hi, Josie!
I'm glad to hear that your recovery is going well. Make sure you double check with the doc about the pool if you haven't already. I asked at 3 weeks about swimming and taking baths and he said not until 6 weeks when he has checked to see fi sutures are healed.

Relax and take care of yourself!

Thanks Jo! My dr. actually told me that swimming and taking a bath were ok to do before I left the hospital. All of my stitches are internal. I had a TVH. I was afraid to take a bath or go swimmimg until yesterday. At my post op exam my dr. once again said it was ok. So I am finally taking advantage of it. He reassured me that even where the dermabond adhesive, he used that instead of stitches for my TVT sling, I couldn't hurt it. Told me to go ahead and get the rest of the dermabond off when I decided to soak myself instead of taking a shower.

I'm back from my two week check-up today too - Dr. just looked at incision - said looked good, looked at DH - waved finger at him and told him no sex for two more weeks - and said I shouldn't be surprised to just feel 50%, that I would feel a lot better in the next two weeks - since I have felt pretty good that was great news!
