LAVH Excercise - returning to the gym?

I had a laparoscopically assisted hysterectomy with intact overaries. I had the operation on Dec 20th & am feeling good (no bleeding or spotting!) I have been a gym junkie all my life & am both fit & healthy & am wondering when I can return to the gym. There is not much info about this on-line & am looking for advice from others that have gone through this. I have ben walking daily 45 min's to an hour at a good pace without any issues. What kind of gym classes would be acceptable? I am thinking about a cycle or spin class as this is low impact and what about an upper body weights program using light weights? Any advice in this area would really be appreciated. Thanks, Mariella

You need to ask your doctor this as he or she only knows what they did inside of you. You also need to remember that you had an organ removed and that you have hundreds of stitches or cauterizations inside you and all of that needs to heal. If you do too much, you can cause mini bleeds which promotes adhesions (scarring formations) inside you and those can cause issues down the road. Please give your body time to heal.
