"Surg." protector?

Greetings dear sisters,

Our bodies have minds of their own!(?)

I'm scheduled for a TAH/BSO on April 13, though I'm gonna fight to keep the ovaries! No O Cancer history in the family, but heart disease & diabetes complications rule (I'm type II). I'm believing the info here about post-menopausal hormone production and need to convince my Dr. A 2nd opinion is not possible in this community, the wait time is about 1 year...

Anywho, my issue is that I've developed a rash all over my body... I've discounted food allergy, detergent, it's not shingles. Only 2 theories I've got is reaction to the Lupron (after 3 months worth, with very few symptoms) or stress. Yes, I'm struggling to get many projects finished at work but I'm mentally prepared for the surg. (thanks to this site), the freezer's full, I'm mostly covered by insurance, I'm sleeping well, still exercising.

I am 50 yrs, I used to get rashes when I was much younger, but it's been steady-as-she-goes for many years, despite very serious stress-related events (2 deaths in the family, divorce, house move, financial woes... you know, the usual 'life')

Now this! Some would say I'm a laid back individual, others would call me high-strung. Has anybody experienced a rash from Lupron or as a rebellion to pending surgery? I wonder if this will postpone surgery if it doesn't clear up in 3 weeks?

Sorry to be long winded. Any opinions welcome.
Regards,
Jan (aka fibroid factory)

Here's a thought (and it's just a thought): Allergies can develop over time, and maybe you've just now become sensitive to whatever you're reacting to.

I wouldn't rule out allergies unless you've been professionally tested for them. And maybe a professional would know right away if your rash was consistent with an allergic reaction.

I would think, however, that if the Lupron was causing the rash you would have broken out right away.

I hope you get relief soon!

As a person that simply wouldn't know how to act if I didn't have a rash somewhere(dumb allergies).....i think it is possible you could be having an allergic reaction to the Lupron. I have reactions to plenty of things(Benadryl is one of my BESTEST friends
Try a lil Benadryl according to the directions on the package just to see if that gives ya a little relief. At the very least the benadryl may make ya a little sleepy, but it's a safe product and can't hurt to give it a try.

Good luck!
