Concerned about age and recovery

I'm 38 and have had a hard time recovering... I don't think just age has as much to do with itas some of the other factors. I was 128lbs at the time of the surgery and now 121 lbs... I was normally very active and in pretty good shape. I eat healthy and take vitamins daily... yada yada. I think how you recover depends not only on your age and health, but moreso on your emotional mindset and the type of support you have. I've had great support thru recovery, but I've been sick for so long and had just had surgery in February and my body is just worn out and so are my heart and mind. I think if this had happened at a better point in my life, I would have bounced back from it much quicker than I have. I don't know... just my

Concerned about age and recovery

I'm 38, but I had my surgery at 34. With all the bleeding before hand, it damaged my heart, and a had a bout with heart failure. So for 4 yrs sisters, I felt 90 yrs old. I was trying to be real careful about not putting too much straine on my heart. The result was "fat", and plenty of it. Now I excercise a little everyday and it has made a big difference for me. Yes, the surgery can take a lot out of us and depression will set in because of all the exhaustion. Just know we're here for all of you. I'm never leaving the "sisters", because they have always been there for me.
