Incision care

Had DaVinci a week ago today. How long are you supposed to keep the bandaids on over your incisions. My instructions werent specific. My bellybutton is a mess lots of dried blood and gunk I want to clean it out so bad because its really irritating. I had 2 days of more activity than i needed and I am really sore around the other 2 incisions. Have been taking it easy since. Cant wait to get healed and recovered. This sitting or laying all day is for the birds lol

You will need to call your Dr. To find out what they want you specifically to do. I had TAH, and my bandage was removed after 24 hrs by a nurse. Sorry not much help but give your dr a quick call.

I had DaVinci on February 28th. My bandages over incisions loosend after about a week and a half and once they were no longer touching the actual incision I peeled them off my skin.

I had trouble with my naval incision, got very infected. Bandage was changed before leaving hospital and I took bandage off before shower and washed out with water only, then used blow dryer on low to dry a bit and covered it with clean gauze to catch drainage (all okay by Dr.)

Keep eye on drainage, if changes color or odor - don't hesitate to call Dr.
