Not much sex drive, Pain with sex, and bleding after

Hi. I had a Hysterectomy almost a year ago.. Sept. 2010... and I am STILL having pain with sex and bleeding for about 2-3 days afterwards. What would cause this? Is something wrong, or is this a usual thing? I am only 41 years old and married and it has become so difficult to have sex. I thinkg my husband is starting to resent this and I am afraid for my marriage.

I am sorry to hear you are going through this. This doesn't sound normal. There are many things that could cause this but I would suggest you go back to your Dr. and check things out.

After removal of the ovaries you could experience vaginal atrophy and that can cause pain and bleeding (the vaginal tissues atrophy due to lack of estrogen).

You didn't describe what the pain feels like...sandpaper feeling? pain at penetration? those things can indicate different issues.

I am going to call my Doctor... but the pain is is during insertion and also when it is inserted all the way, and then after, my stomach has pain, almost like small cramping. Yeaa, I guess it is HIGH TIME I call the Doctor. Thank you so much for your response and your advice. IT is alwasy wonderful to know someone cares and understands.
