Blood for transfusion

NOT TO SCARE ANYONE, but if your doctor says to donate.....do it if there is any way possible.

I was to have a LAVH on April 8th, and they ended up doing that for an hour and then eventually cutting me open. I ended up losing a liter and a half of blood and having to have a transfusion. Although, it is very rare, it can happen. I had to take donated blood because they told me is was rare and I that I didn't need to donate (I asked the possiblity). I didn't mind taking donated blood, but would have preferred to have my own put back in..if youj know what I mean?!?

Best of luck and please know I was an exception....I had a rough go...but they said that most go off smooth and easy and without a problem one!!!

blood for transfusion

I asked my doctor about the blood donation - it also said it was very rare to need it - but i think i would feel better about it - my date is may 23rd - I am still learning all the names and you all have been so helpful - i had a biopsy last week on my uterus and i thought i was going in labor - i asked the nurse why they didn't tell me to take advil before i came and she saidi they can't policy - but they asked me if i wanted one after - unnecessary pain. - guss i will get used to it - thanks againf or all you girls help - good luck to all
