Re: Use of Binder after more than 5 weeks

Used my binder when I went out 2 days ago. Felt sore and took a full day to recover from it. Maybe because my tummy was used to "freedom" then all of a sudden, was bounded. Not sure also if it was because I used the maternity support because the regular binder that was given to me in the hospital was too big to hide under my shirt.
Will try the real binder and will see. Will share with you my experience. But from what I read in the other threads, it's a different story per person.

Re: Use of Binder after more than 5 weeks

So I went to DR today for my post op and mentioned this post. She said the fear of a blood clot is silly because it isn't a tourniquet, it's support. She said as long as it isn't super tight there should be no worry. She also said it's like a corset, which women wear daily all the time. And I can wear mine as long as I want, even with my blood clot disorder. (Love my DR )

Stargazer44,
Thanks for the feedback from your doctor.

To all the ladies in the thread,
I wore the binder today especially during the road trip. I didn't wear it tightly and I felt fine. Not so sore after a long day out.

Yes, thanks to all of you for answering my questions, too, and calming my fears about the clots. I really like my binder, especially wearing it at work, so I don't feel so 'out there' and vulnerable when I walk to the printer, copier, restroom, or anywhere else. Plus, I don't feel quite so fat, since it holds me in. Thanks again, everyone!
