Lap with epidural or spinal only? Anyone do it?

I am looking for input - I like to be awake for everything (even my colonoscope!) and the Gyn has said it is up to the anesth and I to decide. Looking for input - did you have general with yours? Why or why not?

TIA

Lap with epidural or spinal only? Anyone do it?

Hi ((driad)) ,
I have never had any of my surgeries or procedures done with the epidural but I have seen several others who have chosen this route & seemed very pleased with it

You could try searching the boards using the search function located above to find threads from those who have used this...

Also, here is a link from our Resources Directory that discusses this method:

Epidural Analgesia: Management and Outcomes: https://www.hystersisters.com/vb2/lin...=jump&lid=1165

It contains some excellent info about this

Good Luck & pls keep us posted on how things are going....((((hugs))))

I should add that I know a tonne about the benefits and risks of the epi or spinal, I just am really looking for the experiences of women who have had it for this. I am really opposed to general, but at the same time, the idea of being inflated with air and tilted on a table doesn't sound wonderful either. At least with a general I am not going to know about it!
