I Can't Stop Thinking About It!

I Just Found Out That I Will Be Having A Hysterectomy On May 30,2006. I Am Totally Freaking Out And Can't Stop Thinking About It. If Anyone Has Any Suggestions To Not Be So Preoccupied With The Thoughts Of All This I Would Really Like To Know. It's A Long Way Off(about 7 Weeks Away) And I Need Some Way To Calm Myself Down. Any Help Would Be Great!

I Can't Stop Thinking About It!

My only suggestion is to keep busy. Get your house in order, pamper yourself with a day at the spa and if you work-keep working up to the last day. I only had a little over 1 week to prepare and the time went really fast just getting ready. Don't dwell on your surgery, take time to do the things you need to do to get ready and try to keep your mind off of the surgery.

Good luck to you!

I Can't Stop Thinking About It!

Hi princess Wendy, I agree the waiting is hard isn't it. I have 4 weeks to go and it is always on my mind. It's the first thing I think of in the morning and the last thing at night.........argh.
I have started to make many lists, of things to buy for the hospital, what questions I need to ask, what cleaning and things need to be done prior etc. Then I check them off once they are done, this tends to keep me on top of the waiting.
I have found the last 2 weeks have flown by since my doctor made the date. The op will be here before you know it.

I Can't Stop Thinking About It!

The waiting is really the hardest part.

Many sisters do house work, prepare meals ahead, gather all the things they need for the castle as well as their return home for recovery.

I believe a little pre-princess pampering will go a long way in helping the time seem not quite so endless. Maybe a new hairdo or just a bubble bath.

Are you a reader? That helps me lots of times.

If you have extra time on your hands (lol), you can always do some volunteer work until your surgery. What a great way to make your time go faster, meet some new friends, and affect someones life in a positive way, all at the same time.

What ever you choose to do, remember that we are also here for your support, whenever you need us. A shoulder to cry on, waiting with a and a cup of , right when you need those most.

Before you know it, you will be a princess, too.

Best wishes.
