COMPLICATIONS!!! I am sad and angry and... feeling crazy!
You have every right to all of those emotions. You have been through many life altering changes in such a short time that it is normal to feel angry, sad and a little crazy. If you feel after a few weeks that these feelings are not improving please talk with your Drs about it. Not only are they responsible for your healing body but also for your emotional status.
My thoughts are with you and your family.

Trish, I'm sooo sorry for all that you went through!!! Do you think you could possibly add a counselor/psychologist to your team of specialists to help you get through this emotionally? You may have EAP (employee assistance) through work, or a pastor/rabbi/clergy whom you trust? Short-term counseling has helped me immensely to get through many very difficult times in my life. While a little awkward at first, the help received is well worth it!

Hol-y! After reading your story, I believe you are very lucky to be alive and well now. As a nurse, I can appreciate the seriousness of your situation!
It is very unfortunate that it happened to you and you absolutely have the right to be sad and angry. . .I certainly would be!!!
But try to count your blessings. You were very very sick and were very close to you know what. You are a strong, strong woman!
Be veeeeery good to yourself b/c someone up there loves you!

WOW Trish I am SO sorry for all you have gone thru!!! I have had many yrs of health problem aling with too many surgeries to count but nothing compares to what you have gone thru. As a NICU nurse it sounds if someone REALLY messed up and I hope when you are feeling better you explore your options of what has happened to you.
Best of Luck!!

COMPLICATIONS!!! I am sad and angry and... feeling crazy!
THANK YOU ALL for your kind words!!!!
Some good news (which causes me anxiety ) I am off IV antibiotics as of today . My Infectious Disease Dr said I am doing very well and after three weeks of IV antibiotics I am now off them. I am sooo anxious, nervous, scared.... am I really getting better is this real?
Also today at the DRs office they were getting their usual blood specimen and stuck me three times and still didn't get enough blood. My veins and body are so SICK of getting stuck with needles. ARG. Now have to go back tomorrow for some more sticking.
Trish.

Hi insightme86,
Your right and the psychologist is on the agenda. I will get some help via EAP thru work.... once I am more on the mend my DH and I will attend together. This has been a life altering experience for both of us! I am glad you benefitted from counselling as I often wondered how much help they could be in my situation but I will definately give it a try. Right now I have a hard time looking at pregnant women and babies as they easily pull tears from me but each day is better and better.
Trish.

COMPLICATIONS!!! I am sad and angry and... feeling crazy!
Hi prettyanxious,
Thanks for your kind and wonderful words... I am finding out after the fact how very very sick I was and how close I was to you know what... its scary to think about so I try not to think to much about it.... I just try to be thankful that I am still here.
Since your a nurse I do what to ask your opinion.... I wanted to recognize some of my ICU nurses and I am not sure what the best way to do it. I was going to give them cards but I wanted to do more recognition beyond the card.... any suggestions?
Trish
