Take your breath away pain above hip...
Hello everyone! I am 38 years old and am recovering from my hysterectomy. I have had problems since 7th grade due to my rheumatic auto immune disease but really in the last 2 years it has gradually increased in severity. I tried natural hormones therapy from an outside office that worked for a year, then went back to my ob/gyn who prescribed hormone replacement. Didn't do a thing. I had an endometrial ablation and tubal ligation in 2004. Ablation didn't work. I hope and pray that I have made the right decision with a hysterectomy. Eveyone says I won't regret it. My only complaint after 19 days post op is a gut wrenching, breath taking pain that is between my incision (which has nicely healed on the outside) and my hip. It isn't constant but when it happens, I can't move, talk, etc. I have been told that it is possibly gas trapped...I would love to know if anyone else has had this. I am currently resting/doing very little with a heating pad around my hops/belly.
Looking forward to this connection and possibly helping other in the future

Take your breath away pain above hip...
Hi ☺️, yes I've had the same pain and other pain as well. I'm 4 weeks on in my recovery and some days are better than others. It's normal to have some degree of pain. I would get it checked out to be on the safe side especially if it becomes more painful and more often, extra symptoms an so on. Start writing your recovery in a diary every day . I used to use hot packs a lot every month for PAINFUL periods. I find ice packs are far more effective after having my TAH as the ice helps reduce the swelling . Hope your feeling better soon😘
