6 weeks post hysterectomy: How long can I travel in car for??

Anyone know when you can go on longer car journeys after hysterectomy please?
Because of DVT risk I know there are restrictions on air travel, but wondered whether this applies to car journeys too? I'm 6 weeks post op & haven't travelled for longer than 30mins so far! Family is 1-2hrs away & have been reluctant so far to travel in the car for that long!!

Hi there,
I think you would be find to travel one to two hours. Perhaps who is driving can stop half way so you can get out of the car and walk around for a few minutes. By six weeks I was traveling an hour or so to visit family.

My dr okayed me to drive myself to my cousins 3 hrs away at 3 weeks. At 6 weeks I am completely cleared for everything except sex.

At 3 weeks post-op, I traveled as a passenger in my car from Delaware to Florida (18 hours!). We stopped every 2-3 hours for me to walk around and I drank lots of water. I didn't have any issues. Good luck!

I traveled three hours away 4 weeks post hysterectomy, 2 hours away about two weeks post. No problems either time.

I traveled 9 hrs at one week post op in a car,stopped every hour and I was fine.

My doctor told me as long as I felt comfortable travelling, and listened to my body.
