V hysterectomy cut bladder

I had a full V Hysterecomy on the 23rd, my doctor made a small cut to my bladder ( I have a great doctor mistakes happen) She repaired the bladder, called in a urologist to check her work, and he put in stints. Spent a week in hospital and came home with a catheter. Going in a Monday praying they will take the catheter out as I am not a fan and am ready to start peeing on my own=) Anyone have postive stories about post op after this has happened. Very scared they will not take the catheter out also scared they will and I will have problems peeing on my own! The stress and depression is worse than the pain.

Re: V hysterectomy cut bladder

Needing,

I can't help you, for I didn't go through what you're going through, but I wanted to send you my best wishes.

I can understand you're going through so much stress, and so looking forward to have the catheter off... let's hope they take it off.

In these stressful times, if only we knew a magical word to make friends feel better!...

Take care, sister, and know we care a lot, and we'll be hoping you heal fast, and that this is over soon.

Hugs!

Re: V hysterectomy cut bladder

I had my bladder punctured during my surgery and had to come home with a catheter - had it in for a week. It took me about 6 hours to pee, and I never tried so hard to pee in my life because if I couldn't go on my own they were going to re-cath me. Drink tons of water before you go in so you can pee. It gets better and while I knew that was a complication going into it, I never expected for it to happen to me. Good luck and post after your visit!
