Urinary Incontinence

HELP!!!! I am now 11 weeks post-op and for the last 2 weeks I have had incontience.. some days it's a little here and there, but the last week or so, I can't move without peeing.. I am having to wear a pad ( thought I would never wear them again ).. it's really getting me down.. I told my doc and he said to do kagels.. it's not helping.. I am going out of town in 11 days on a vacation, so I emailed him today asking for help and he's suppose to give me a medication...
please anyone who has had this issue.. please please tell me it's not going to last forever...

Re: Urinary Incontinence

Livlaffluv -

I am sorry to hear you are experiencing some urinary incontinence.

Was your surgeon a uro-gyn? If not it may be time to see that type of specialist about the issue. Hopefully the medication will get you through your out of town trip.

I'm hoping some other members with experience with the issue will stop by and give you the benefit of their experiences.

Re: Urinary Incontinence

I haven't been through this but I'd suggest Depends (or off-brand) for your trip. It'll make you feel better. I used them during my heavy periods and saved lots of clothes that way.

Re: Urinary Incontinence

well I have been through the ringer having tests done! I had a urodynamics, cystoscopy and CT... all to find out I have a Vesicovaginal Fistula.... so ive been leaking urine vaginally for the past 2 months.. now on the 20th I get to have surgery to correct it.... MAJOR surgery.. so not happy!! they have to cut me open abdominally due to where the fistula is located... this is not gonna be fun

Re: Urinary Incontinence

So sorry to hear that you have to go through another surgery. Glad to hear that they figured it out and will be able to fix the problem. I have had surgery for fistulas and while it wasn't fun, it did correct the problem. Sending huge hugs.l

Re: Urinary Incontinence

Hello everyone... well I am now 3 months to the day post-surgery for my vesico-vaginal fistula repair surgery... that was not fun.. I was admitted for 8 days, then I had a suprapubic cath for 5 1/2 week's, then a urethral cath for 14 days.. I have been back to work for about a month.. I am doing well.. all healed up... thank goodness!!!
