Is it true??

I am scheduled to have my SAH its a little over a month away very nervous. I was just wondering I was told that its good to try and tone up before surgery that it will help with the healing process. Is this true??

Re: Is it true??

I believe being in shape for any surgery will have benefits, your body will heal better, I know I have used my arm muscles more to help getting in and out of bed, and stability. So I always think its a good idea, I didn't tone my stomach muscles since they are going to be ripped open anyways!

Re: Is it true??

While moderate exercise and toning exercises help, walking in the fresh air now if weather permits certainly would help you both mentally and physically.
I think on the flip side you should try to get as much rest as possible without pushing yourself too much. Also consider your diet too now in preparation for surgery. Try to limit the amounts of salt and sugars in your diet and add more fruit and vegetables. They will definitely help you after the surgery.
Good luck to you. Hugs and prayers
