surgery 6-2 hyst in c section incision navel down. need tips for gas & pain relief

I've had 4 c sections,1969,1972,1986 & 1988. Cut from navel
down. I was hoping to hear from anyone who's had a similar situation. Did the recovery period take longer due to scar tissue
and being opened again through same incision? What about pain?
I have all necessities pack does anyone have any tips on what to bring for gas pain and things to make me more comfortable?
I have fibroids,cysts on both ovaries,left ovary enlarged & uterus lining is very thick. Surgery is June 2.

I also have had c-sections and I thought the surgery was very close to the same. At the castle, they gave me simethicone for the gas and I used it at home also. My doctor told me to use Alieve for pain when he discharged me. I really didn't have a lot of incisional pain. I was cut vertically also. Just remember to follow your doctor's orders and TAKE IT EASY! Good luck with everything!

I use phayzyme (sp?) for gas -- it's an over-the-counter medication. But the best thing is walking and eating the right things. I stayed on soft foods that are non-gas-producing and ate very small amounts until just recently (just ate pizza last night for the first time and it didn't cause any pain! Yeah!).

If I eat until full, it's very uncomfortable. Each time I eat, I walk. I also found that lying on my side released gas much better than flat on my back, so if my belly started to bloat, I turned over.

I haven't had any gas for the last three, four days. For me, it didn't last too long and it wasn't too bad. But I was a walking maven in the hospital -- I think that's what made the difference.
