Re: Belly numb

Hello
I think this is very common where nerves have been cut. I had a TAH and I have a numb band of skin on my tummy above my bikini line incision. At week 7 it is still numb but some of the sensation has come back on the edges. I had lots of weird sensation like sunburn and mild electric shocks as the nerves started to reawaken around the wound during week 2/3. I found gently rubbing the area made it go off.

Not sure you want to be pinching yourself as a cure to insomnia! (just kidding :-))

Wishing you a speedy recovery x

Re: Belly numb

As kazwaz said, it is very common to have numbness as often nerves are cut and they need to regenerate. When they start regenerating, they can produce a lot of weird sensations such as extreme itchiness. It took 8 and a half months for the numbness to go away completely for me. For some ladies, it is faster, others much slower and some ladies are left with permanent numbness. If you are itchy, that is a good sign that the nerves are starting to heal.
