Infected incision site from LPH

One of my incisions site is infected, pussing, and opening back up. The whole incision is less than an inch long. It's the lower one on left side. It's very tender and red. Called the doc and on call doc prescribed antibiotics. I am taking those. How worried should I be? Has anyone else had this?? I am kind of freaking out.

Ps my surgery was march 13th?

At about 4 weeks post-op, I had a small part of my incision get infected from a stitch that was sticking out and I foolishly tugged on it. When it got red, sore and started leaking puss, I called my doctor's office but could not get in. I ended up going to the ER where they did an ultrasound to make sure I didn't have a big abscess. It turned out to be a tiny pocket under the incision and Keflex was prescribed for 10 days. Within a week, the hole was completely closed and all healed up. I hope that is will be the same for you.

My BSO lap was the day after yours. About 8 days post op, same thing happened. I've been on antibiotics for 5 days now and the incisions are healing nicely. Freaked me out, too. Feel better.
